Ethos, Pathos, Logos


Ethos, Pathos and Logos are all essential for any good advertisement. For any advertisement to be good, it has to be logical and reasonable, has to credible and have emotions to get the public's eye.

Logos for instance, is centered around everything that has to do with speech. It has to have an opening, a body and a conclusion. Facts, statistics are good because people want to "think" that they was studies.

Ethos is all about credibility, how the producers wants to make the public believe in the products they are trying to sell and advertise. They want the audience to have trust and confidence in the company and that the products meets society's standards. Example, the use of celebrity is better as they are role models for today's society. Also, people in uniforms or politics or professionally looking people because it seems like approval from someone of a higher "level".

Pathos always wants to connect emotionally with the viewer as sometimes inspirational stories touches the people's heart. For example, when they use a person with a sad story and says that it's not an actor. It makes the person watching the publicity sympathize. It can be playing with people's feelings and wants.
