Drugs
The illicit drug market is known to be one of the largest business in the world. Drug use has been continuously growing, alarmingly, throughout the years all over the world and is getting out of control.
Opiates are those derived from the narcotic components in the sap of the opium poppy. From these a huge variety of both legal and illegal drugs are created. Yet are sadly abused as they are becoming more easy to get.
Globalization of cannabis and heroin has been continuously advancing, causing the quadrupling of the flow of substances over the internet. There are thousands of products in the market, in Europe one new drug is created per week.
Experts suggest for "effective prevention strategies," to start taking use. For example, measures to improve the safe storage, distribution, and control of hazardous substances that can be a relief for sick people, but can create addiction in healthy people.
Drug addiction is a disease, this is why it is necessary to offer access to therapies instead of penalizing consumption.
United States is currently the largest illegal drug market in the world and has the highest number of deaths because of the consumption. The Mexican Drug War left more than 60,000 people dead and about 12,000 kidnaps. How much more shall we loose to take action? How much is enough for the world to open their eyes? Let's wake up.
Once someone abuses of an ilegal substance, it’s an addiction. An addiction is something almost imposible to change yet these days there are more methods of rehab, therapy and so on. What i would suggest would be peer presure. And by saying this i am not referring to the same one that may of have gotten the drug usser start taking the substance in the first place, i mean the peer presure that can make as big of a change in the good way. Friends are normally our first suppporters and motivation for us to get to a goal, so by doing just that to help a friend or family member slowly and constantly supporting them for them to make the right decisions again, could lead to a final drug usage stop.
IGNORANCE is still a major factor which encourages people to keep on going with their addiction. People listen to the wrong people around them telling them its ok, the feeling is worth it… maybe because there is no one telling them the opposite.
All the hope addicts have is the good influences they have around them, their real friends, their families, but they are the ones that should speak up about the ones they care about and tell them it's not ok. When someone is addicted, there is so much to loose, and nothing to win. People may expect the addicts to hopefully wake up one day with a clean set of mind and simply stop. This is'nt possible. They need help from anyone they can, maybe even people as themselves, such as anynomous groups were they can go through this path to success together. There are so many ways to help them but ignorance will never be one. If you know anyone struggling through a life changing situation help them, lead them in the right direction while there is still time. As strong as they might think they are they cant go through it by themselves.
